Site Cost Increased

Received an email from Building coordinator that site cost will increase by $12k. What the hell. The reason given were:

With no option left and stuck, we proceed with this. Felt really cheated and can’t believe PD did so much underestimate…

House Variations:

> Windows were upgraded

> Stairs and Void costed $12,000

> Site Cost around $60,000

What went good:

> Sales Person - Carlo was awesome

> Colour/Electrical appointment

> Demolition and tree removal

> New BC and Site supervisor were quite helpful

> Handover and post-handover was very well managed,

What improved during process:

> Communication from Porter Davis

Lesson learnt:

> Avoid sloppy land

> Electric pit installation takes time

> Gas meter disconnection request need to be raised by supplier(on request of account holder)

> Up-selling in Builder selection process

> External variation could be done apart from the standard one shown on web site

> Have everything in written...

Others:

> Electrician, Kitchen, Supervisor all had old plans. Luckily to live on same street to inspect before completion

> Building Coordinator changed during the process

> Site supervisor resigned

> Garage does not have plaster on the wall
